Noah Wasige

Noah Shammah Wasige LL.B (Hon.) (MUK) Dip.Lp (LDC)

Noah S. Wasige is one of our founding partners. Noah oversees the Conveyance, M&A, Energy & Mining departments of our practice.

Having worked with MMAKS advocates (a top tier law firm in Kampala) for over seven years, Noah brings all round corporate legal experience to the firm, as well as lasting and fundamental relationships with some of the biggest players in the sectors he oversees. He brings a wealth of knowledge in dispute resolution and has advised several multinational corporations in each of the sector he oversees. Noah sits on the Boards of Directors of various local and international companies and has recently taken on tasks that put him at the center stage of the oil and gas sector in Uganda.

Noah has received recognition as a rising stars in legal practice specializing in business and economic law. More generally, Noah is involved in a number of legal issues and areas which, owing to their connection to business transactions in a free market and global economy are likely to grow significantly and to play a leading role in Uganda’s legal-economic context. The Embassy of the United States in Kampala recognized that in the years ahead therefore, Noah and the firm are likely to be at forefront of advising foreign investors and other international business agents looking to do business in Uganda. For this reason, he was seconded for and is now an alumni of the IVLP program.

Noah is an honors Graduate of the Makerere University Law School and is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.

Robert Kirunda

Robert Kirunda LL.B (HON.) (MUK), LL.M (Cum Laude)(UWC)

Robert Kirunda is the co - founding Partner of the firm. A specialist in transaction advisory work, Robert has a wealth of experience in banking, project structuring and finance, transaction advisory, and in the agriculture sector. Robert’s experience is broad and cuts across both the public and private sectors. He leads the Corporate & Commercial as well as the Banking and Finance work of the firm. Robert has focused his banking and finance practice to the dynamic Fintech space. He advises the leading companies in Uganda on blockchain and is a thought leader in this space.

For the last ten years, Robert has taught law at the Makerere University Law School, specializing commercial law disciplines. He has written and published widely on various issues within the law and in the larger context of society.

Robert has previously interned with the Africa Legal Department of the World Bank, Washington D.C. He is an honors graduate of Makerere University Law School. He holds a Master of Laws (Cum Laude) from the University of Western Cape (South Africa), is a graduate of the International Legal Studies Program at American University, Washington College of Law and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Robert spends some of his free time as a regular commentator on matters of concern to society.

Charity Sange

Charity Bhatia Sange LL.B (Hon.) (MUK) Dip.Lp (LDC)

Charity is valued member of our team, practicing with our corporate and commercial department. She is well grounded in the legal and practical aspects of commercial law and transactions practice. Since joining our firm, Charity has participated in a number of projects and advised on a diverse set of transactions cutting across different sectors in the economy.

Charity is also responsible for ensuring that our clients comply with their respective regulatory requirements. A firm advocate of a preventive approach to dispute resolution, Charity excels at advising our clients on how best to manage their business risk in ways that mitigate dispute resolution. We have every confidence that Charity, who already surpasses her peers in many ways, will grow into an uncontested leader in the Ugandan legal market in a much shorter time than most.

Charity is an honors graduate in Law from Makerere University School of Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre and is a member of the Ugandan Bar.

Angella Kyagera

Angella Kyagera LL.B (HON.) (UCU), Dip.Lp (LDC)

Angella is a member of our corporate and commercial transactions and dispute resolution teams. Since joining our firm, Angella has advised on several transactions and rendered advice on several matters. Angella is a fierce advocate for justice and is sensitive to the client’s issues while dedicated to aggressively pursuing their interests. She continues to work with the Partners on the Firm’s strategic litigation and to nurture long term relationships with our clients.

Angella is an honors graduate in Law from Uganda Christian University Mukono, holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation and Revenue Management and a Post Graduate diploma in Legal Practice at the Law Development Centre.

Julianna Kisakye

Julianna Kisakye LL.B (Hon.) (MUK) Dip.Lp (LDC)

Julianna brings a wealth of experience in public interest litigation and human rights. Tasked with handling much of our research and litigation work, Julianna is a resourceful, hardworking and talented young lawyer. Julianna excels at managing client relations just as much as she does in rendering legal and consulting advice. She is as grounded in the commercial aspects of the firm’s work as she is in the broader and more strategic work we engage in. She has, for instance, been a key member of the Firm’s team advising on the reform of regulation of medical, dental, nursing and allied health practice in Uganda.

Julianna’s interests lie in litigation, commercial transactions and consultancy. She is responsible for our premier arbitration practice. We believe that Julianna is a rising star who will redefine the legal and justice system in Uganda.

Julianna holds an honors Degree in Law from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Sophie Okumu

Sophie Okumu LL.B (HON.) (UDSM), Dip.Lp (LDC)

Sophie possesses a unique wealth of knowledge in the Insolvency, Banking and Finance. As part of her studies for the Bar, Sophie interned with Bank of Uganda. Sophie works closely with our clients in the Fintech space. She is at the center of the evolving blockchain technology eco system in Uganda. Sophie has a keen interest in litigation and dispute resolution. She also has enhanced research skills and ability to work within deadlines have proved her a valuable member of our team.

Sophie is an honors graduate of Law from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
